What I Ate – Weekend Edition
Welcome ladies and gentlement to a new edition of ‘What I Ate…’ since I ate next to nothing at home this weekend. iPhone photos pretty tacky, but I’m tacky, so it works out.
First up, we have fresh Saturday morning’s blueberry pancakes from Mother’s. They were as large as my head and came with some pork apple sausage. Breakfast of champions.
Next up we have glorious el pastor tacos from Taqueria La Catrina for dinner. Those tortillas are covered in grease and I loved every minute of them. I can’t get enough of their green sauce. So spicy.
This was my breakfast this morning at 4-4-2. Housemade cevapi [Bosnian sausage] on fresh made lepinja [Serbian flatbread] with a ton of ajvar [Serbian relish] and diced onion. We go to 4-4-2 [soccer bar] to get it. We’re friends with the owner who is Bosnian [who would have guessed with a menu like that?], and he imports the coffee that makes up that Americano. It’s some of my favorite espresso.
And finally, after a crazy busy weekend [where I may or may not have gone to bed before 3am on any of the nights], I made red curry with beef, potatoes, mushrooms, and green beans. That’s coconut brown rice. We couldn’t handle going out to eat for another meal.
How was your weekend?
Cevapi for breakfast? That’s one good breakfast 🙂
Occasionally I’ll ask them to top that with eggs because I’m crazy like that. Now that’s a breakfast!
ooo i totally have to try the food at 4-4-2. those tacos look awesome too!
